Terry Christian to launch Irish Festival

The award winning Irish Mancunian TV broadcaster Terry Christian, presenter with MUTV and Channel 5, will be helping the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Alison Firth and a host of other Irish celebrities and VIPs to launch this years Manchester Irish Festival.

Mr. Christian, whose Irish roots stem from Dublin, said “As an Irish Mancunian and a lover of all things Irish, it is a honour to be asked to help launch this two week extravaganza.”

The civic launch will take place on Friday 5 March at Manchester Town Hall in front of a specially invited audience representing Manchester’s Irish community.

The event will mark the start of the two week festival which runs from Friday 5 March until Sunday 21 March. It is now in its fifteenth year and features 200 events at fifty venues, making it one of Europe’s biggest Irish celebrations.

Entertainment on the night which will feature performances from the international tenor Martin Toal, Irish Country star Stephen Smyth, who is flying in from County Down in Ireland and the award winning Morgan School of Irish Dance.
