Six Irish Mums go on the Run for Cancer Charity
Six Irish Mums from St Winifred’s Primary School in Heaton Mersey (pictured from left to right, Louise McGuire, Paula Hampson, Fiona Barlow, Helen Wrightson, Nora Lavorini & Ruth Walsh), are to compete in this years Wilmslow half Marathon on Sunday 28 March to help raise money for Beechwood Cancer Care.
Nora Lavorini a teacher at St Bedes College whose Irish roots stem from Kerry and Monaghan said “We are doing the run to support a friend who has been diagnosed with Cancer and want to help this particular charity as they provide support for families who have been affected by cancer. We have raised over £1,000 already just from friends and family and want to try and raise as much as we can. Anyone who would like to support the charity can donate by going on the website www.justgiving.com/mums-on-the-run
The six runners involved in the half marathon are Louise McGuire(Irish roots stem from Galway), Fiona Barlow(Galway & Mayo), Paula Hampson parents (Co. Meath), Nora Lavorini (Kerry & Monaghan) Helen Wrightson (Co.Meath), Ruth Walsh (Mayo).
