The Liquid Motion Triathlon Club stages the “Powerade” Salmon Run Triathlon on Saturday the 7th of July in Ballina, County Mayo. The event which is sponsored by Ballina Beverages and Cocoa Cola is one of the opening highlights of the week long Ballina Salmon Festival which runs until Sunday 15 July.
It features a swim in the famous River Moy, followed by a bike ride and finishes with a run to the finish line. Tony Hennigan the press officer from the Manchester-Mayo Tourism group said “It is a fantastic event to watch, I get tempted every year to join in, it’s a mixture of novices and very serious competitors.

The race is hugely supported by Ballina locals and competitors from throughout Europe. Liquid Motion the organisers of the event looks forward to welcoming back all those who gave the triathlon a go last year!
The course is very suited to those who are undertaking the triathlon for the first time and has been selected by Triathlon Ireland as a qualifying race for the European Triathlon Championships 2013!

Entries are now open and can be made via www.triathlonireland.ie.
All race details may be found on www.liquidmotion.ie and on their FaceBook Page.
