Festival turned Green and Red for Mayo Day Promotion
The Mayo.ie Mayo Day promotion during the opening weekend of the 2018 Manchester Irish Festival has been hailed as a great success. The Mayo Association of Manchester took over the prestigious Point Entertainment venue at Lancashire Cricket Club with a sold out Dinner Dance. The venue was turned Green and Red and provided a warm Mayo welcome to the promotion of the global Mayo Day.
A night for two at the four star Hotel Ballina the first of four prizes to be given away during the promotion during the Manchester Irish Festival was won by Mellisa McDowell.
Tony Hennigan from Mayo Manchester Tourism and Business group and the organiser of the Mayo Day promotion commented "We were delighted with the support from the Mayo Association of Manchester. It was a lovely evening which raised a considerable amount of money for the Mayo Roscommon Hospice."
The second Mayo Day prize of Brunch for two will be raffled off at the special 2018 International Womens Day Centenary Concert with Claire Mooney and friends on Saturday 10 March at Freds Ale House in Levenshulme. A night in the Gateway Hotel in Swinford will be raffled on at the 25th anniversary of Hennigans Hooley on Saint Patrick's Day at the Union in Levenshulme. Finally the star prize of a two night stay at the 4 star Hotel Westport and a two day pass at the award winning Westport House will be launched on the same day.
