Derby Fever hits Irish Pub in Burnage

While many people are talking about the battle coming on 6th May, another battle that is going to divide south Manchester – and this time it is in 3D!

Manchester City are hosting Manchester United this Saturday and the game is being shown in 3D for the first time at the poplular Irish Pub, The Farmer’s Arms in Burnage. The special 3D glasses to watch the game are being sponsored by Guinness so customers can purchase them at a very reduced rate.

Irish Bar owner Lawrence Hennigan welcomed John Leech the Liberal Democrat up for re-election as MP for Withington to show him round and demonstrate the newly installed 3D Televisions.

John said:
“It’s excellent that the Farmer’s Arms has got the game in 3D and I’m sure it will attract a lot of people. Lawrence is bucking the trend, with thirty nine pubs a week closing, it’s vital we give our pubs as much support as possible.

When asked about his predictions for the result on Saturday, John said:
“Lawrence might have 3D but we’ve got three dangerous strikers and I’m going for 3-1 to the blues!”

United-mad Hennigan said:
“It’s going to be a fantastic derby with everything to play for. The response for the games that we have so far shown in 3D has been really positive and has packed the place out; it’s about as close as its gets to watching it live!

“I just hope Rooney makes a miraculous recovery! It’s great to receive the support from John Leech who I know has been backing pubs in parliament.”
