The week long Traditional Irish Music, Song and Dance festival is one of the flagship events for the inaugural Mayo County Councils Home to Mayo Festival which runs from the 1st to the 31st May. The Tradfest will feature over 100 performers taking part in over 40 events with 7 main events in the 7 hubs in Achill, Ashford Castle, Ballina, Ballinrobe Races,Castlebar, Cong and Killala.

One of the main highlights of the festival is the Home to Mayo Gala Concert at the Ballina Arts Centre on Saturday 28 May which is hosted by Alan Keegan from Manchester United Football Club, Tickets are just 15 Euros each from the Arts Centre Tel 096 73 593. The evening of Irish Music, Song and Dance features the Turley Duggan Irish Dance Academy, Sean nos Dancers from the Eimear Mulvey Dance School, Singers Tara Grady, Teresa Marie Canavan and Dennis McCalmont, plus the Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band.
