Burnage celebrates Elvis Anniversary

The internationally famous ‘Oasis Music Bar’ at the Farmers Arms Pub on Burnage Lane, in Burnage, South Manchester, will be staging a special Elvis Anniversary night on Saturday 14th August.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the birth, in 1935, of ‘The King of Rock n Roll’. The special Burnage event will mark the thirty third anniversary of the sad demise of the Rock n Roll Legend that was Elvis Presley, who passed away on the 16th August 1977. Burnage singer ‘Big Jim White’, one of Manchester’s premier Elvis tribute acts is to stage a special anniversary ‘Presley in Mind’ show in his honour.

Lawrence Hennigan the owner of the bar said “I’m a big Elvis fan myself and we wanted to do something special this year for his anniversary.

Big Jim White puts on a fantastic show and we want as many Elvis fans as possible to get dressed up in their best Rock n Roll outfit. I’ll be putting on my blue Suede shoes and trying to brylcreem what is left of my quiff to "ALL SHOOK UP"
