2012 Manchester Irish Festival gets ready for world's friendliest three day Non Stop St Patrick's weekend Party

The celebrations for what promises to be the world's friendliest St Patrick's weekend Party for this years 2012 Manchester Irish Festival weekend start as early as 8am on St Patrick's Eve - Friday 16th March and run through to Sunday 18th March. One of Manchester's Premier Radio stations - XFM kick off the festival celebrations by going 'Green' to match the stations logo. They are holding a special live broadcast with Manchester's Celtic Rock band 'Crazy Folk' who will be reworking classic tracks by the likes of 'Red Hot Chilli Peppers' , 'U2' and 'Oasis' and giving them a Celtic Rock restyling.

Later that night the band headline the Guinness Tradfest night at the 'Oasis Music Bar' in the Farmers Arms in Burnage. There are 16 other events to select from on the same night, which include the staging of the award winning Frank McGuinness play called 'Baglady'.

Celebrations on St Patrick's day itself start first thing in the morning with special St Patrick's Day services in a number of churches followed by a whole host of St Patrick's Day breakfasts. There are thirty events to select from today ranging from the celebrity packed 'Pride of Eireann' Gala dinner to a non stop 12 hour Irish Party at m19 Bar featuring Live Irish musicians and the famous 'Around 32 Counties' music marathon with DJ David H.

On Sunday 18th March which is the last day of the festival and 'Mothers Day' the festival is staging a further 13 events, the highlight of which is the closing concert by the 'Voice of Ireland' - 'Tommy Fleming' at the Opera House. The festival has arranged a special two for one deal on tickets for the concert, you just have to quote 'Ireland' when booking the tickets.
