Irish Diaspora Foundation - Exhibition
We have been busy this year at the Irish Diaspora Foundation with various cultural events and programmes of activity.
We have been working with numerous schools, groups and also a photographer, Andrea Percival, who has a special interest in Irish Identity. In view of the fact that work has begun on building the new Irish World Heritage Centre, Andrea has been photographing the existing Centre for posterity.
We have also been working with Fiona Dunk from the Kindling Trust looking at land use and food production within the Irish community in the Cheetham Area. We have worked together to produce a calendar and examples of this work will be on display at this exhibition. Our volunteers have been working hard on our oral history project in which we have interviewed Irish people about their experiences of growing up in Ireland and also emigrating to England.
The end product of these three projects will be displayed at our special exhibition at Manchester Town Hall on Friday 16th March from 1.00pm. There will also be entertainment with singing from a number of schools and choirs with whom we work.
If you wish to attend this exhibition, please contact Margot on 0161 2021200 or email margot@iwhc.com.
