Paula is an Irish Singer-Songwriter (born and raised in Tipperary, Ireland) now based in York. Her music is a unique blend of Irish Celtic lyricism and passion, original songwriting and the funky rhythms and “wacky” instruments of folk music from round the world.
In performance she aims to provide an entertaining mix of powerful, insightful original songs with well-known Irish folk songs delivered with real communication with the audience and lots of humour (“Great Songs & Great Craic!”). She performs solo and also accompanies her songs with guitar, banjo, marimba and a variety of percussion instruments (Bodhran, Djembe, Darabuka).
You can hear some of her recordings of popular Irish songs at www.soundcloud.com/paula_irish_songs
