An Evening with David Parkes St. Kentigern’s Catholic Church A one-time professional footballer, who decided to embark upon a signing career and was at the height of his fame when he was cruelly struck down with Crohn’s disease. After many operations – the last one lasting 11 hours David was given 14 weeks to live. At a benefit concert attended by many of his friends David decided to sing and many thought it was for the last time. However at this particular concert were people who organised pilgrimages to Medjugorie and they persuaded David and his wife Ann to go. By his own admission David only agreed because he had honeymooned there and wanted to return one last time. Although in excruciating pain he made the journey and was cured of this terrible disease. Hear his remarkable story in song and words by the man himself.
