The
Manchester Irish Festival 2003 Traditional Music and Dance |
|
Manchester has a rich tradition of traditional Irish Music and if there is one person that is synonymous with it's growth, it is Pat Sweeney. The Irish Community in this City are proud that Pat has become the first ever President of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, in tribute to this the Manchester CCE will be performing at a specially erected stage at the Printworks during the festival. In 1999
Pat was given the greatest honour by being elected President of Comhaltas
Ceoltóirí Éireann, the first person to hold this position
outside of Ireland in the organisation’s 50 year history. A member of St Wilfrids CCE, Pat Sweeney
has been a constant support to the movement of CCE in Manchester and across
the world. His contribution to maintaining the Irish Tradition through each
generation has Events |
