The Manchester St. Patrick’s Society has been in existence since 1934 and apart
from the years 1940-1944 has provided a great occasion in Manchester where people could celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. For the second time in its history the Society has this year got a female chairperson in Martina Stopes who is the daughter of Pat & Eileen McGuiness, a well known Manchester Irish family and committee members of the society for the past 25 years.

It is with great pride that the organisers of this event can boast 60% of the attendees to
be between 18 and 30 years. It is always a lively occasion and it is celebrated in the Irish tradition of good food, music, song and dance. Over the years the event has always been added to by the presence of the Lord Mayor of Manchester and also a very entertaining speaker. The society are pleased to include this years event as part of the
Manchester Irish Festival.
