Manchester Irish Memories

The Irish have always been proud of their contribution to Manchester - all of us have a memory and a story to tell.

Manchester Irish Memories will be book that tells your story and relives the memories with your photographs.

We want to hear from you if you have a photograph or a story.
• it might be a picture of where you first lived in the early days,
• a social night out having the craic with family & friends,
• a sporting event,
• a place of work,
• a building with Irish connections,
in fact anything that gives us an Irish memory.

If you haven’t any photographs, but have a story to tell of being Irish in Manchester then write it down and share it with us to leave a Manchester Irish Memory for future
generations to enjoy.

The book will be launched in 2004 to coincide with the Manchester Irish Festival so there is lot of work to carry out before we see or read

You need to include a letter confirming that you are the owner of the photograph and that you give permission for it to be used by the author and Manchester Irish Memories.

If you wish photographs to be returned please enclose a stamped addressed envelope. Unfortunately, photocopies of photographs cannot be used, originals only please, if you wish to e-mail a picture, this can be accepted with a letter
of consent.

Remember to include some details of when and where the photograph was taken, the
names of the individuals and any other relevant information.

It would also be good to hear from people who might still have an old wage slip or a
membership card for a club or place of work. The older the memory the better.
Thank you as we look forward to more Manchester Irish Memories.
