Manchester Irish Festival Opening Party Night

Tonight sees the opening party night for this year's Manchester Irish Festival. Tom Dee is behind the decks playing Commercial dance and uplifting tunes to get the 12-day party up and rocking.

Temple Bar' Club Night

Manchester Irish Festival Radio DJ Mark K is behind the decks playing everything from Westlife to U2 to commemorate Dublin's hip and happening 'Temple Bar Arts quarter'. The party takes place in the newly refurbished 'Temple Bar' on the ground floor of the Palace Nightclub. With its leather sofas, gallons of Guinness and a vibrant Celtic soundtrack, you could almost think you are in Dublin's bustling city!

Boddingtons YGG Unsigned 2002 Final

This is the final of 'Boddingtons YGG Unsigned 2002'. Six bands out of 200 entries from all over the UK and Ireland have made it through to tonight. The competition, which is supported by Oasis drummer Tony McCarroll, aims to find the cream of the UK & Irelands best unsigned band with Irish roots and help them on the road to fame and fortune.

With over £1,500 worth of prizes donated by Potential House, Blue Room Studios, Domino Pizza, Manchester Bands A-Z and Boddingtons, the event is one of the highlights of the festival.

The Haze Indie guitar band from Radcliffe
Shallowater Indie Rock from Cheadle...
Two Tone Karma Rock band from Bury

It's the BIG ONE. The Celtic Groove Sound System, featuring Manchester top Radio DJs, will be be playing top tunes.

Arrive early if you want to get in! It's standing room only at the festival's biggest Irish party in town. Don't forget to paint your face green and to wear your shamrock with pride, whether you are Irish or just out to join in the biggest night of the year. Everyone is welcome!

Manchester Irish Festival MSU
Under 18s Club Night Special

Manchester Schools Unite is a unique club night for the city's 11-17 year olds. With over 600 members from 23 different schools throughout Greater Manchester, it has become one of the city's premier club nights for it's teenage population.

This Manchester Irish Festival special will feature top name Radio DJ's plus a Play Station 2 games room.

Plus the The ‘Pop Pupils’ competition
Budding participants must be aged 11-17 only.
