The Manchester Irish Festival 2001

The Manchester Irish Festival

9th-18th March 2001

Welcome to our award-winning 6th Manchester Irish Festival. It’s a tribute to our great city that the festival has matured to become the largest in the UK. As you will read in the following pages the diversity and range of events on offer in 2001 is better than ever before.

The Manchester Irish Festival is an inclusive event and everybody in the city is welcomed to join in and participate – whatever your background, colour or creed. There really is something for everybody, dance, song, music, comedy, theatre, readings, food – the list goes on.

My special thanks goes to all the members of the Festival Committee who give their time and ideas freely. Thanks also to all the City Councillors who support and encourage the festival. And finally, thanks and congratulations to the hard-working and talented members of the Irish Community who make it all possible each year!

I hope to see you out and about over the festival period and maybe will even get the chance to share a ‘Guinness’ with you.
